The Queerics archive gets bigger every week, and from the beginning, I know people have been going through and clicking the songs they recognize. It's understandable; you'd have to be a pretty devoted lyrical trainspotter to go through all 200-some songs on the site (some of which totally suck, I'll be the first to admit) and pick the most intriguing ones to download, so it's a lot easier to look within your own CD collection.
But that's a bit sad--for me, anyway, because I know there are gorgeous bits of music throughout the site that aren't getting the attention they deserve. So here's my attempt to round up the very best of them and make it easy for you to check them out. Obviously, the songs were primarily picked and rated based on their lyrics and the originality of their subject matter, but I also took their music, vocals, and production into consideration. Shitty production causes cancer.
All the songs stream from imeem; I tried to find full-length ones when I could, but some of them are 30-second clips. If that really infuriates you and you want to hear the whole track, log in to imeem and look at the Queerics Top 20 playlist. There may still be a few that fail; if you're curious about those, contact me.
